It's indeed flawed, but at least it eliminates bias (racial profiling and things like that)

Enforcers and inspectors are also subject to same laws/criteria (they shouldn't be able to get away with murder...unless of course they are part of the "exceptional cases")

It is biased....it just replaces many biases with a general bias. Also there no telling if the AI puts race and gender into account when judging things.

I think it's not all that flawed. AI can almost predict everything about everyone given enough big data, just like how Google can predict many things we like and don't like based on what other people with similar properties like and don't like. Many crimes could probably be prevented using such a system, such as a guy going insane and killing his wife and kids some time after or a terrorist buying ingredients for a bomb. I think you can improve the system by only letting the guns paralyze, that way nobody dies and the evidence can be verified after :)

EDIT: Ok I watched the entire show, this system is horrific lmao. It forces everyone to think a certain way, and if they don't they are branded criminals and locked up. The most insane psychotic killers are sometimes measured as having almost no Crime Coefficient.
I only meant using AI as an indication for preventing crime, but in this anime it's gone way beyond that, sheesh.

One thing that I don't get is since the sybil system is made of criminally asymptomatic people(brains), if they really wanted to improve their society, why did they just keep quiet when such people abused their power to kill(like makishima shogo killing Tsunemuri's friend or smth its been a while since i've watched) The system already has so many members, and its not like the brains die, so whats the need to bring in such people into the system?

Seems like newbie girl is not a main character but a side character meaning we are just watching from her perspective

i think in BSD, atsushi is a mc and dazai is another one. akutagawa might be one but i dont think he is

not sure which one you mean by "he" so i know that atsushi is the protagonist for obvious reasons and dazai is probably a deuteragonist (basically second main chara) and i think that for several reasons and one of them being that we get a lot of flashbacks for him. he 100% has a huge role in the story either way. and then for akutagawa he could also be another deuteragonist because he and atsushi are kinda like a duo in fighting. atsushi cant rlly beat any main antagonists in arcs by himself which is why he needs akutagawa but im not completely sure about this one.

Isn't that the case with all protagonists, to watch the story from their perspective? Both Tsunemori and Kogami are the protagonists, and with Tsunemori being the newbie, everything has to be explaned to her, wich gives us as the audience the explanation of how that world works.

The slyvil system,dominator,laws in the 22 century society is like a police organisation of Light yagami from death note.
That man got killed into tomato mashup by police cuz he started with run away(firstly to be paralyzed) and then his fear of police and evil thoughts make him in action of rape/torture to a girl and thus determine to be eliminated.

In my opinion, psychopass series just show a middle finger to nearly all of the non-police genres anime.

If you alternatively view as psycho pass to anime to other anime mc/protagonist (heros or anti- heros), they're allkinda like bad guys (even if they have empathy to some people but not to some) thus still makes them like nonsensical.

the grammar is pretty off but (if this is where you got lost that is) I think he's talking about in most anime, the "good guys" go around murdering people and get away with it (probably since they're supposedly good guys which technically they are if they're killing "bad" people) so in those type of anime, there is no good and bad. however, in this anime, good and bad does matter.

not here. The raped woman was a victim and had done nothing wrong. She was under alot of stress because of the rapist telling her the police would kill her, which actually would have happened if the girl didnt step in. The gun said lethal force activated.

This remains my fav. It hit me deep. I was annoyed at the system. Makishima was not evil until he killed that innocent friend of the female mc, I disliked him. The characters are amazing. Shibyl is shitty af. Season 1 and 2 were good. Then they ruined it.
